As the writer of the new got plans 2.0<\/em> column I\u2019ve graciously been given the liberty to write what I wish when it comes to the awesome events happening each weekend here in Birmingham. <\/span>I\u2019m a good man for the job because I\u2019m no freshman to what the city has to offer, but in this third week I\u2019m finding it hard to pick and choose the Terminal-worthy events that you readers may be looking for.<\/p>\n

So I\u2019ve been thinking and have decided that I\u2019m going to put got plans<\/em> in your hands this weekend. <\/span>Got plans 2.0<\/em> is three weeks old today; way too young to be setting a standard and definitely not to old to keep it from becoming what you want it to be. <\/span>Our philosophy at The Terminal is to maintain a conversation between the contributors and our community. <\/span>I want that with got plans<\/em>; that\u2019s why I ask you to comment if you know of something else going on or if I totally missed the mark in terms of my picks. <\/span>Ultimately, my plans are your plans and they should be good plans ’cause you guys deserve them.<\/p>\n

So this week I\u2019m asking this favor; after you read the post, make a comment listing an event that you want to go to this weekend and make a suggestion about the types of things you\u2019d like me to let you know about each weekend. <\/span>Whether it\u2019s more shows, more music, more arts and culture, or if you just want to know which bars and restaurants are the best weekend bets. <\/span>Let me know so I can share. <\/span><\/p>\n

I won’t leave you guys completely on your own this weekend. Here’s my quick and easy list of suggestions for the weekend:<\/p>\n

It\u2019s Friday the 13th<\/sup> again and Sloss Furnaces<\/a> is hoping to make you feel like your luck’s run out by showing \u201cFriday the 13th<\/sup>\u201d in the shed<\/a>. <\/span>They definitely got this one right because scary movies are always scarier at Sloss.<\/p>\n

The Tragic City Rollers<\/a> are having their first home match of 2009 tonight. Check it out over on destinations<\/a>.<\/p>\n

For those of you wanting to get all HGTV, the Birmingham Spring Home and Garden Show<\/a> is running through the weekend…<\/p>\n

and this is the\u00a0third Sunday of the month, so If you\u2019ve never heard of it I’d check out On Stage @ the Carver<\/a>, \u201ca night of poetry and wine featuring Birmingham’s finest spoken word artists\u201d at the Carver Theatre<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Whatever you do this weekend, be safe and enjoy it.<\/span><\/p>\n
