I don’t know if you were able to realize it, but what The Terminal laid out in that weekly post was the power to one up those who waste time late Friday afternoon searching the web or flipping through various weekly-published event calendars searching for something to do.\u00a0\u00a0Well, after a justified hiatus, today marks the return of got plans<\/em>.\u00a0 With a new style and new direction I\u00a0set out to be the genius behind your weekend.\u00a0 As the new writer, let me do all the work.\u00a0 I’ll flip through the pages and click the links, from there I’ll suggest three or four Terminal-worthy events.\u00a0 If anything it’ll just be the things you shouldn’t be missing.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n On the flip side, I don’t have the swagger to claim that I’m writing a definitive weekend guide, so if I leave something out, make a comment and let the rest of us know what’s up.\u00a0 Above all, when someone asks how you know about all this cool stuff, give The Terminal some credit and we’ll keep this conversation going…<\/span><\/p>\n First up, the weekend\u2019s main event comes tonight with <\/span>Art Bash 2009: PISTONS & PINUPS<\/span><\/a> at Old Car Heaven<\/a>.\u00a0 This fundraiser for the ONB Magic City Art Connection<\/a> is going to be a sweet event. For $20 advance\/ $25 at the door (there’s a discount if you dress up vintage) you get to mingle with pinup models and get your pic taken with “Cupcake,” a pink 1958 Plymouth Power Flite convertible. On top of that your going to be surrounded by vintage cars, while having your way with some awesome sandwiches, and checking out the art in the Art Bash Salon; all to the sounds of DJ Ken Webb of Urban Fabric<\/a> (check out last week’s playlist<\/a>) and <\/span>The Pineapple Skinners<\/span><\/a>. I wouldn’t miss this one, but for those with some Irish blood The Chieftains will be performing at the Alys Stephens Center.\u00a0 This show is definitely for the high rollers as the tickets are expensive, but for you kids with a student ID it\u2019s only $20.<\/span><\/p>\n On Saturday, if you’ve recovered by mid-morning, I recommend checking out <\/span>Jim Reed Books<\/span><\/a> downtown.\u00a0 It’s an awesome shop on 3rd Avenue N., and with Saturday being cold and rainy a good book might help you through it. Plus, you may even come across something that prolongs the pinup fantasy that set in after you left Art Bash.\u00a0 Later that evening head over to Workplay for Undivided’s Suquamish Reservation Benefit featuring <\/span>The White Oaks<\/span><\/a>. It’s not a local cause but it’s an awesome local band who’s taking the stage with other locals <\/span>Bright Henry<\/span><\/a>, as well as, the Sylestine Native American Dance Troupe; whose members include the only Alabama Indians still living in Alabama.
