Last time we heard from Birmingham native (and international superstar, yay!) Taylor Hollingsworth<\/a>, he left a tour stop in San Francisco minus a lot of valuable equipment<\/a>. Here’s a quick interview I had with him this past week:<\/p>\n

Me<\/strong>: Has your stolen equipment situation gone for better or worse since I last heard?<\/p>\n

Taylor<\/strong>: The stolen equipment situation has gotten better. \u00a0Apparently all our gear with the exception of my acoustic guitar and Michael Shackleford’s bass, have now been found. \u00a0I have not received my electric yet but I’ll be back in San Fran in about 5 days and I’m planning on picking it up!<\/p>\n

After we got the bad news out of the way, I got to ask some questions that a lot of our readers have been curious as far as Taylor’s musical past and present.<\/em><\/p>\n

Me<\/strong>: Had you worked with or met Maria Taylor<\/a> before this tour?<\/p>\n

Taylor<\/strong>: Yes, I’ve known Maria for years now. \u00a0I’ve gone on 4 tours with her, 3 U.S. and 1 in Europe. \u00a0Her brother Macey has played with me in my band<\/a> and others for years, and her sister Kate is my girlfriend!<\/p>\n

M<\/strong>e<\/strong>: What are your plans music-wise after you get back into town?<\/p>\n

Taylor<\/strong>: Well I have a while before I’ll be back from this tour. \u00a0I think I’m home in December and will probably record during this time. \u00a0Then I think the Mystic Valley Band<\/a> is going back to Europe in January.<\/p>\n

Me<\/strong>: Do you plan on taking a nationwide solo tour again or recording?<\/p>\n

Taylor<\/strong>: As for February on, if a good solo tour opportunity presented itself I would probably do it. If not, [I’m] not really worried about that. I’ll just focus on making another album.<\/p>\n

Me<\/strong>: And finally, what are the 2 or 3 most listened to artists on your iPod or laptop at the moment?<\/p>\n

Taylor<\/strong>: I don’t have an iPod or a laptop. \u00a0But 3 artists I am currently listening to are Hound Dog Taylor<\/em> and the House Rockers<\/em>, Slick Rick<\/em>, and Mitch Ryder<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Taylor\u00a0Hollingsworth<\/strong> is\u00a0currently on a 5 month world tour with Conor Oberst<\/a> and the Mystic Valley Band<\/strong>. You can check out songs from his album Bad Little Kitty<\/strong> now on iTunes.
