It was last performed there <a href=\"http:\/\/bhamterminal.com\/blog\/2008\/03\/27\/the-vagina-monologues-uab\/\">in 2008<\/a> \u00a0to a sell-out crowd and organizers are expecting the same this year.<\/p>\n<p>Performances will take place April 26 and 27 in the campus&#8217;s Great Hall. Auditions are being held today (March 9) and Tuesday (March 12) at the Hill University Center (HUC) at the following times:<\/p>\n<p>Saturday, March 9, 1 &#8211; 3 p.m., HUC 412<br \/>\nTuesday, March 12, 6 &#8211; 8 p.m., HUC 411<\/p>\n<p>The HUC is located at <a href=\"https:\/\/maps.google.com\/maps?q=1400+university+blvd+birmingham+al&amp;hl=en&amp;safe=off&amp;hnear=1400+University+Blvd,+Birmingham,+Jefferson,+Alabama+35233&amp;gl=us&amp;t=h&amp;z=16\">1400 University Blvd<\/a>. in the heart of UAB\u2019s campus.<\/p>\n<p>Those interested in volunteering or performing should check out <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/pages\/The-Vagina-Monologues-in-Birmingham\/499239063465655\">the efforts fan page on Facebook<\/a> for updates.<\/p>\n<p><em><a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/The_Vagina_Monologues\">The Vagina Monologues<\/a><\/em> is a play based on <a href=\"http:\/\/www.vday.org\/about\/more-about\/eveensler\">playwright &#8211; and V-Day founder &#8211; Eve Ensler<\/a>\u2019s interviews with more than 200 women. As <a href=\"http:\/\/www.vday.org\/\">the V-Day website<\/a> explains:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cWith humor and grace the piece celebrates women\u2019s sexuality and strength. Through this play and the liberation of this one word, countless women throughout the world have taken control of their bodies and their lives.
