If you hadn\u2019t noticed, we\u2019re riding high here at The Terminal about our future workspace<\/a>. I’d like<\/span> to hear you guys mirror that excitement by getting pumped about what\u2019s going on in town this weekend. <\/span>Check out these noteworthy events and don\u2019t be shy about letting the rest of us know what you plan on doing.<\/p>\n

If you haven\u2019t heard about Opera Birmingham<\/a>\u2019s presentation of Verdi\u2019s La Traviata<\/a><\/em> you\u2019ve officially been living in a hole. <\/span>This highly\u00a0publicized\u00a0performance, \u201c<\/em>starring Alabama native Susanna Phillips, in her very first Violetta, and the Alabama Symphony Orchestra\u201d<\/em><\/span> happens tonight and Sunday. This evening the<\/span> performance begins at 7:30 and Sunday\u2019s matinee begins at 2:30. <\/span>The tickets<\/a> range from $15-78 depending on your preference, but I\u2019m sure it will sound beautiful from any seat in the Alabama Theater<\/a>. <\/span><\/p>\n

Saturday evening the Alys Stephens Center<\/a> will be presenting the amazing Spanish Harlem Orchestra<\/a>. <\/span>This show starts at 8 but if you\u2019re up for some salsa dancing you can enjoy a free lesson before the show. <\/span>Students shouldn\u2019t miss this one, because it\u2019s definitely a deal at $20, as for the rest of you don\u2019t let the sorry economy keep you from enjoying an awesome show. Non-student prices range from $25-45.<\/p>\n

Considering the weather we\u2019ve been having I wouldn\u2019t want you to miss the IndyCar Open Test Sessions<\/a> going on Saturday thru Monday at Barber Motorsports Park<\/a>. <\/span>If you\u2019ve never been to Barber’s this should be an awesome introduction. These are all day events with ticket available online for $10 dollars a day or $25 for the three days or you can get them at the gate for $15 a day or $35 for the event. <\/span><\/p>\n

Birmingham loves their local bands, so if you can make it there is going to be some awesome sounds coming from O kafes!<\/a> tonight and tomorrow. <\/span>The Hearts start at 9 tonight. Then tomorrow if you\u2019re in the mood for some folk rock Black Buffalo<\/a> starts at 9 with a $3 cover.<\/p>\n

The Bottletree<\/a> has become a favorite Birmingham venue for many of you, as it should considering the awesome variety of bands taking their stage every weekend. <\/span>Tonight DJ Night with Houseblend<\/a> starts at 9 p.m. with a $5 cover. <\/span>Then on Saturday everyone\u2019s invited, because it\u2019s an all ages show<\/a>! <\/span>The Human Highway<\/a>, The Magic, and Cotton Jones<\/a> start at 7:30 with a $10 cover.<\/p>\n
