I like the former “Little Shades Creek Park” in Vestavia Hills. It’s now McCallum Park, named for the Mayor who helped it come to be. It’s got picnic tables and playground, a nice creek, a field, and plenty of shade.

Avondale has always been a great park.. with baseball fields and running water and ducks and geese and fishing and the rose garden and gazebos and a library tucked right into it…. but now that it’s been renovated with new play equipment, nicer fields/bleachers/dug outs/ the beautiful sign and the little elephant water feature, it’s simply magical!
