We thought it was only fair to ask who you trusted the most in terms of politics in metro Birmingham (especially in light of all of the other stuff out there right now).
Which metro Birmingham politician do you trust the most?

Contrary to popular belief, there are many trustworthy local politicians. Tony Petelos, Greg Canfield, Paul DeMarco, Jabo Waggoner, Patricia Todd, Linda Coleman, and Earl Hilliard, Jr. are all good, just to name a few.

As above. Throw Valerie Abbott and Artur Davis in there too.
I most trust Councilor Abbott – not necessarily to vote the way I would, but at least to have made an effort to understand the issue at hand and to have the experience and wisdom to understand the effect of a policy.
I generally trust Councilor Smitherman and Commissioner Bell to be well-informed and to have the benefit of experience, but I can’t say I trust them implicitly to base their actions on the greater good.
I would also like to say that, overall, Governor Riley has impressed me very much with his practical and businesslike capabilities in making his office a rather powerful force for improving the state. I disagree with his view often, and I get frustrated when he gets petty and stubborn and when he allows the vilest partisans to carry out unfair attacks on their rivals while he looks the other way. But compared to every other governor this state has had in my lifetime? Very impressive.
I’m hoping folks get the movie reference… hehe
I like Patricia Todd. And to a degree, Bob Riley.
But our mayor, the city council and the Jefferson County Commission are just useless and a bad example for our community.
