Should Fox 6 have shown Osbournes Reloaded last night?

04.1.2009 by Andre Natta · 4 Comments

Yep, Fox 6 was one of several stations that didn’t air the Osbournes’ new series. (h/t to @WadeonTweets). What do you think…

Let’s hear ‘em!

Every affiliate has the right to refuse to air network programs, provided it has a reason. However, what is Fox 6′s reason?

Otherwise, the default should be to air it and let the audience decide, kinda like the show that would’ve lead into the Osbournes’ show.

I agree with Wade. I’m fine with an affiliate not airing a certain program if it doesn’t fit into their market, but to make that decision before the market has a chance to form an opinion probably wasn’t the best move.

Anyone in charge of any media gets the final call when it comes to publishing, broadcasting, etc. as it should be. If the local Fox folks gathered over beers and decided that their market here in the heart of Alabama would appreciate them not airing that content after what Fox calls a “family friendly American Idol”, then they can and should. If it’s what they really think their customers wanted.

But it seems that many times highly-paid media big wigs aren’t as in-touch with their customers/viewers as they think they are.

But should they have… pretty horrible show IMHO. And definitely not “family friendly”. Nuff said.
