  This city is blessed with several immensely talented songwriters/musicians, and any of the aforementioned acts could legitimately claim the top spot. I am partial to Matthew Mayfield and Wes McDonald because I see them often and have had the chance to work with them. Both are exceptional performers and writers.

  Both bands play often at Speakeasy, and Chris Porter and his various bands play at the Metro Bistro (MBM) a lot. Both bands have sites on Myspace….seriously, check them out if you’ve yet to have the pleasure.
