And don’t think that it has to be local – we heard that guy who gave to KEXP earlier today (Friday)…

Let’s hear ‘em

99.5, on Sundays from 10 PM to 1 AM (the Coyote J show); I also like the internet radio stations at SomaFM.

Well, I only listen to local radio (don’t have internet at home), soo….

    WBHM 90.3, hands down.

And, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sundays, 94.5 for Reg’s Coffeehouse, of course.

Is it really even worth turning on the radio around here? I do sometimes listen to WBHM on the way to and from work, but that’s about it. I don’t listen to the other 4 or so stations. Or however many there actually are, but let’s be honest, there are basically only about 4 stations here in town, even though they tend to show up at different spots on the dial. Guess that’s the price you pay for corporate-run radio, trying to target ad revenue and playing the same ‘most popular’ songs over and over and over again. Sigh. I get my Car Talk podcast and stream old shows of Reg from the website, so thankfully I’m not stuck.

Since I got Sirius satellite radio last year, I very rarely listen to local stations at all. And I don’t miss them one bit. Especially the worthless local talk shows.

WBHM is what I wake up to in the morning and what I listen to in the car. At work I listen to Yahoo radio. My favorite are the Alternative Hip-Hop, 90’s Alternative and Power Pop stations.

WBHM is a long-time favorite, especially on Saturday mornings, while I’m putting on my makeup in the morning and weekday drive time. Lately, however, I’ve been listing to Fox 6 in the morning as I drive to work and in the evening as I drive home — morning to hear the weather and evening to hear what I’ve missed in the news all day.
I also like Samford’s jazz station while I run errands, but its reach is limited.

WBHM. I wish Bottletree had a station or that there was a student radio station. I’d love to hear interesting new music on the radio…
