The obvious and impossible-to-deny answer would be the mayoral race. However, I’d actually cast my vote for the City Council’s passing Langford’s tax initiatives without much review or debate.
Outside of politics, I’m hopeful about the establishment of the Innovation Depot as a visible and effective incubator for biotech companies.

Langford’s election and ensuing blitzkrieg assault on sanity.
Next year’s defining event: Langford’s indictment by the SEC, and the ensuing knife-fight among County, State, and Municipal officials over who gets to run Birmingham while LaLa is behind bars.
