I’d have to say Larry Langford. He made the last quarter of 2007 interesting and will the next four years. Hopefully his vision for Birmingham has a better result than did vision for Vision Land.
Is the criteria making noise or making a difference? If it is the former, then Larry Langford. If the latter, Brett Blackledge, 2007 Pulitzer Prize winner.
How about the United States Judiciary ? They alone, have punished some who have fed their greed as they raped and pillaged the taxpayers of our state. Hopefully, the punishment of Scrushy and his gang of thieves, Siegleman, McNair, the sewer mafia and the secondary education parasites sends a signal to those who will not hesitate to steal from Alabama children and honest, hard workng taxpayers. Are you paying attention, Mayor?

Person of the year? I think we’re still waiting on that one. I like BrianW’s suggestion, though.
