Jazz Jam Fest at Carver Theatre

The Alabama Jazz Hall of Fame presents its Jazz Jam Fest concert starring Cleve Eaton & special guest Shelton Gary on Sunday, Oct. 26, 4 p.m. at the historic Carver Theatre. Cleveland Eaton, a consummate bassist, is a recognized name in the jazz world as a producer, composer, arranger and for his incredible performances with the Ike Cole Trio, Donald Byrd-Pepper Adams Quintet and more than 30 recordings in his 10 years with the Ramsey Lewis Trio. Shelton Gary is a well-known jazz drummer with a long and prestigious career. This event is the perfect opportunity for jazz lovers of all ages to enjoy a stylish afternoon of great jazz. Green Third Thursday, Birmingham Zoo

Catalyst’s Green Third Thursday is taking a field trip this month - to the Birmingham Zoo. They’re joining forces with the Birmingham Audubon Society to present a special talk with Adam Snyder of Conservation Alabama. Conservation Alabama is Alabama’s only environmental lobbying organization, and Adam will discuss ways citizens can get more involved in making their environmental priorities a political reality. 4th Vietnam Agent Orange Justice Tour, GreenCup Books

Join the Vietnam Agent Orange Relief & Responsibility Campaign, NLG, Alabama Chapter Vets for Peace, Alabama chapter and Cartee & Morris, LLC as they work towards raising the public’s awareness about those that continue to suffer as a result of Agent Orange, a chemical used during the Vietnam War. The tour includes personal accounts by those that were affected by direct exposure and others that were born with birth defects as a result of their parents’ exposure. Andy Mac skateboard demo, Belk at The Summit

World champion skateboarder Andy “Mac” McDonald will perform live skateboard demonstrations on an outdoor skateboard ramp at 11:30 a.m. Immediately following the demonstration, Andy will be in the store signing autographs.
