He was a volunteer for the first ten years of the music festival and attended City Stages for many years after that. He did not attend last year or this year due to what he describes as a lack of top tier and up-and-coming bands to stir his interest. He didn\u2019t want to let <a title=\"City Stages is no more | bhamterminal.com, 6.25.2009\" href=\"http:\/\/bhamterminal.com\/blog\/2009\/06\/25\/city-stages-is-no-more\/\">City Stages slip away<\/a> without saying goodbye. He decided what better way than a remake of an old classic <em><a title=\"American Pie - Wikipedia\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/American_Pie\">American Pie<\/a><\/em>. &#8211; <em>ACN<\/em><\/p>\n<p><span><span style=\"font-family: mceinline\">A long, long time ago&#8230;<br \/>\nI can still remember<br \/>\nHow that music used to make me smile.<br \/>\nAnd I knew if I had my chance<br \/>\nThat I could make those people dance<br \/>\nAnd, maybe, they<\/span><\/span><span><span style=\"font-family: mceinline\">\u2019<\/span><\/span><span><span style=\"font-family: mceinline\">d be happy for a while.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>But has-been acts made me shiver<br \/>\nWith every song they\u2019d deliver.<br \/>\nBad news on the bank step;<br \/>\nThey
