#bhamchat<\/em><\/a> is an online conversation about Birmingham, AL by Birmingham, AL held every Tuesday from 7 – 8:30 p.m. CT.<\/p>\n

NOTE:<\/strong> During the month of March 2011 – we will hold #bhamchat on Thursdays at 1 p.m. CT.<\/p>\n

It is based on the popular #journchat hosted by @PRSarahEvans<\/a>. #bhamchat<\/em><\/a> is believed to be the first chat on Twitter dedicated to focusing on issues taking place in a single city in the United States.<\/p>\n

The first #bhamchat<\/em><\/a> was held on June 23, 2009.<\/p>\n

After a six-month break, it returned on July 6, 2010.<\/p>\n

Please follow @bhamchat<\/a> on Twitter. We also maintain\u00a0a What the Hashtag? page<\/a> if you don’t have a Twitter account; you’ll want to sign up for one to participate (though we are working on a way for you to take part without an account. Stay tuned…).<\/p>\n

Keep an eye out for the #<\/strong>bhamchat<\/a><\/strong> hashtag in your Twitter feed and be sure to include the tag in your replies. You can follow along using the Twitter search<\/a> option or hashtags.org<\/a>.<\/p>\n

We label questions with a Q<\/strong> followed by the number (e.g., Q1<\/strong>) so it’s easier to know which conversation you’re participating in.<\/p>\n

We ask that you only use the hashtag during the chat or if you’re sharing something that relates to a previous chat or a suggestion for an upcoming one.<\/p>\n
