Work is progressing at the site of the CiTYViLLE BLOCK 121 development on Birmingham, AL’s Southside.

For those of you that saw my earlier post on my Birmingham about the problems facing Scrollworks and their benefit event this weekend, we’ve received some great news - word that the bill is now down to $163.
Good news for Scrollworks, who will hopefully see some of you at their event on Saturday night.

390 days to go, but it’s got a website

John Elkington’s name is on the line… at least in Birmingham. The Birmingham News reports that the developer charged with creating Birmingham’s newest entertainment district has pledged that The Forge will be open in 390 days – a self-imposed August 1, 2009 deadline.

A little while back we wrote about the continuing pleas of the Forest Park-South Avondale to have the former Avonwood Cleaners demolished as it had become an eyesore in the community. Well, it looks like their prayers have been answered as the Birmingham News reports that the tear down has started.
