Safari Cup faces a fight against Starbucks… in Chicago

Safari Cup Coffee unexpectedly left Birmingham’s coffee scene a little more than three years ago. It’s spent most of those three years in Chicago becoming a staple of the city’s Lakeview district. Now, it’s getting a new next-door neighbor – Starbucks.

Three years later, Einstein Bros. arrives

Council committee to consider Fire Station No. 22 sale

The fate of the former Birmingham Fire Department Engine No. 22 building is partially in the hands of the city’s budget and finance committee. They will consider the proposal to sell to the developer wanting to replace it with a Walgreens. The full council must still vote after receiving the recommendation from the committee.
