The football gods are smiling again on Birmingham, AL as a re-imagined USFL is looking at the city as it prepares to relaunch in spring 2013. We find out sometime this summer if we’re one of the eight cities chosen (probably why we’re seeing so much coverage now).
The Birmingham Sister City Commission has been staying pretty busy so far this year. Earlier this week, they were honored for their hard work and dedication by Sister Cities International as a 2011 Best Overall Program Award winner.

Metro Birmingham now has a name for its new proposed 750-mile greenway network – and a proposed cost. The Red Rock Ridge & Valley Trail System made its debut in front of a standing room only audience at the Birmingham Museum of Art’s Steiner Auditorium on Tuesday evening, February 21.
