BEACON districts are blooming

Three commercial districts served by Main Street Birmingham’s BEACON Program are beginning implementation of a beautification program. Avondale, North Birmingham and Woodlawn have adopted the Blooms for BEACON program, with assistance from MSB and the City of Birmingham’s public works and urban planning departments. ExpressJet service making research easier

ExpressJet began to offer non-stop service to under its own name yesterday to New Orleans and Raleigh-Durham. This is the first time that non-stop service has been available to the Crescent City since Hurricane Katrina two years ago.
