When the spectacle of the trial wanes, we'll have to come to terms with the fact that it didn't change anything. Until there is serious reform, Alabama governments will still be leaving their money on the front porch for someone to take. Langford is gone, but there will be someone to take his place. We can't continue to make it easy for them to do this sort of thing. Why must we rely on federal prosecutors to manage Alabama government?

I was angry with this man when he was wreaking havoc in my city but now I have a different feeling.
It's important that we forgive him and move forward.
