ha, "built entirely in-house" versus "powered by Intranet DASHBOARD" in the footer http://www.intranetdashboard.com/

People are a hoot. "built entirely in house" must mean "we paid someone with a CS degree to copy some text into an out-of-the box CMS."

Anyway, re: design: 'this site chose thawte ssl' is in prime real estate, taking up much of what little 'above the fold' space is left after the ridiculously huge flash banner.

Sigh. Design is dead, long live design.

If this site is up for an award amongst other government sites, I would hate to see what those other sites look like.

What an improvement. For someone who has had to use the old site from time to time to find docs, this is a welcomed changed.

By far a huge improvement, especially for a government site and a massive improvement for JeffCo. The old site looked like it came out when the first Bush was president.

"best of the web", really?

why it sucks...
1) huge flash thing taking up an unnecessary amount of space at the top of the page, for nothing.
2) the flash thing is animated.
3) the top menu gives no indication which menu items have drop down menus or not.

the content may be ok, but i find the design offensive. until i actually needed something it would be difficult to judge the functionality. which is another question, will i ever actually visit this site again? maybe when i renew my car tag. i guess i'm not the target audience.
