an office supply showroom space and headquarters. Yeah, all of those who had dreams of using the space for a nightclub, restaurant or something else can stop fantasizing.
The Birmingham Business Journal reports that Bruce Office City will be the new owners of the building, and for got it for a song…
The building is located at the intersection of Carraway Blvd. and 2nd Avenue North across from the 2nd Avenue North ramp from the Stephens Expressway northbound.

Actually, I would say that as unglamorous as an office supply showroom and warehouse sounds, it’s a great addition to downtown. I have long lamented that, although we have tens of thousands of office workers here, there is no local office supply outlet.
And Nuncie’s is a good location for something like this; it is not necessarily the best location for a restaurant, since it is so isolated from the rest of the urban fabric. I’d rather downtown restaurants be located next to other potential venues so we can more easily have a domino effect.
I’m not sure the price is “a song”, either. Depends on your point of view. 23,000 SF for “over $1 million” for an odd, unattractive building which needs lots of renovation is not out of the realm of downtown sales prices right now.
Perhaps the most promising aspect is a business desiring to move downtown because of the progress going on, and the potential of progress to come. a $2 million investment is not insignificant.

I agree. The space works best for something like this and coupled with the recent beautification project at the exit ramp, brings some much needed life back to an intersection that will enjoy the renewed attention.

Anybody have some info on when the building was constructed and who the architect was?
Any other useful information about the business is also welcome.
