You’re invited to join the Women’s Committee of Cornerstone Schools of Alabama and Strickland Trading Co. for the annual Harvest Luncheon Oct. 11 at The Club. The event begins with a silent auction at 11:00 a.m. followed by lunch at noon. This year’s luncheon will honor Drayton Nabers Jr., former chief justice of the Alabama Supreme Court and current chairman of Cornerstone’s board of directors. Sponsorships are available. Individual tickets are $75 each. The Cornerstone Schools, located in the Woodlawn and East Lake areas of Birmingham, serve 250 children in pre-kindergarten through 8th grade. Since 1993, Cornerstone has been a beacon of hope for at-risk children by providing them with educational choice and equipping them with a college preparatory education, a vision for their future and the ambition to achieve this vision.
