Dunkin Donuts are an all time favorite. I also remember the store on Oxmoor Road. At the time they closed, this area was slowly dying out with alot of businesses moving from the area. I was so sad to find it gone. The proposed 72 stores might be a little much but I personally would like to see you look at the Alabaster area since they have two new shopping malls, along with several restaurants, Starbucks, etc. This area could be a "gold mine" for one of your proposed locations. Please do yourself a BIG favor and look at this area.
Oh yes, Dunkin Donuts are a huge step above Krispy Kreme for quality, good tasing donuts!!!!

DD will dominate all in town.. .KK makes 1 good donut and their coffee is terrible. DD has great coffee and other higher-end drinks to compete with Starbucks. Plus each DD has a Baskin Robbins for the ice cream lovers in town. Bham made a mistake years ago by allowing the DD stores to close...let's not repeat our mistakes.

Krispy Kreme makes one good donut. Every variety other than glazed is pretty awful. Their "cakier" donuts are simply awful.

You can't have a donut shop that only sells glazed donuts. Dunkin donuts makes the whole range of donuts, and they are all very decent.

They don't make a great "high end" donut (apple fritter, cin. rolls/pershing, old fashioned) which will allow a well positioned independent player to survive.

Daylight Donuts guy on Inverness was a bit crazy to open the business in light of the huge potential entry. He should focus on the "high end" varieties, but he's currently at the wrong price point. Should be at 75 and 1.25 and then swtich to 85 and 150 over time.

Some of the donuts could be better as the fritter is too flat looking, and he needs a massive buttermilk bar alongside the tasty pinecone.

The only reason Dunkin Donuts left Bham is the company was restructuring. They have since been taken over by a very ambicious group of men. I'm sure they will do well.

I wonder how this ties into to Publix starting to carry DD coffee. Does the donut company consider it the first small step into the market?
