Magic City Question

Would Gehry’s work be welcome in the Magic City?

06.20.2007 by Andre Natta · View Comments

The Tuscaloosa News’ Tommy Stevenson ponders this question for us in a post on his blog. The idea of prolific yet controversial architect Frank Gehry producing work in the Magic City is definitely a question worth pondering.

Stevenson provides some interesting answers to his question via photographs of our city’s skyscrapers (taken during City Stages). They show them in a way that many would say only Mr. Gehry might appreciate.

Check it out and let us know what you think.

I think with Gehry's work and other less conventional architects, you will find very vocal citizens on both sides, for and against. If located right, the structure would bring added commercial value to the area, especially through tourism. I would like to see what he would come up with in Birmingham.
