We figure everyone’s getting ready to make a run to the grocery store for peanut butter and bread (we’ll never quite understand why those two items) as we brace for the chance of some (potential) snow accumulations tomorrow evening.

Since you’re going to be settled in early tomorrow evening, you may want to check out the special on APTV tomorrow evening focusing on the Birmingham StartUp weekend that happened in September. The show starts at 7 p.m. and if you’ve got one of those HDTVs, you’ll even be able to watch the highlights in high definition, as reported on the project’s blog.

We’re also still trying to make sense of the news surrounding the arrest of a now former Birmingham police officer for breaking the laws that he swore to uphold and enforce. Chief Roper wasn’t too happy about it and made a promise that incidents like this one will not be tolerated from anyone in the future (video currently in player on WIAT.com.

Just up the road in Cullman, we’re learning that metro Birmingham once again had the spotlight focused on it thanks to American Idol. Unfortunately for Traci Hite, all we’re going to get to see of on television this season is captured in this YouTube video:

Joey Jones is looking to become the first football coach in South Alabama’s history after guiding Birmingham Southern to a 2-8 season as they played football for the first time since 1939. BSC should know if they’re going to be back hunting for a head coach sometime next month.
