The world recently celebrated the 10th anniversary of the blogosphere (at least as we know it). Some shined a brighter light on the phenomenon more than others. NPR is doing a week-long series that began this morning. There are even rumors that The Birmingham News may run a story about two area bloggers that run websites in town (hint: you’re reading one of them right now) in the near future.

We’ve decided that we wanted to shine a light on some of the bloggers that are active in Birmingham, AL. All of them have their reasons for writing (and we hope that they may share some words on their behalf either on their site or in the comments section here); we just want to help make more people aware of them. And because it’s the holidays, I’m the one that gets to write the entries…

The first one I’d like to shine a light on is actually one that will be disappearing from the scene in the coming days (and one that I don’t know as well as I wish I did).

Dopplegänger Flutter has been a personal blog in existence since June 2004. Its creator is much better known in local circles for creating Birmingham’s first real directory of area blogs, the Combloggerator. He recently took a moment to let us know that both sites will fade from the scene in 2008. You can check out this early post telling you a little bit about him.

There are many in town that will miss the Combloggerator and the efforts to help link together a portion of the Birmingham blogosphere.

If you know of someone (or some blog) that you think needs to be featured, drop us a line at info@bhamterminal.com.
