Tommy Stevenson decided to republish this article from earlier this month to help get the word out on his Tuscaloosa News blog. It gives a much more personalized account of what’s necessary to help the state in its efforts to accurately measure rainfall, though you could also visit the Community Collaborative Rain, Hail & Snow Network (yeah, it’s a long title) website, www.cocorah.org, to get more information about the program. They’ve already picked up some folks in the area thanks to a recent Birmingham News article, but they can never have too many people.
